About the Gala

The CNIB Foundation’s signature gala, a Night at the Carnival, will be held on Thursday March 26, 2020 and will feature spectacular performances from musicians, aerialists, floor acrobats, jugglers and more.

All of the proceeds from the event will support the CNIB Foundation – meaning that you’ll be a big part of supporting Canadians with sight loss and helping us achieve our mission: to change what it is to be blind.

Performances

Aerial silks

Sophisticated and elegant, aerial silks is a beautiful combination of circus and dance. A graceful circus art in which aerialists do challenging climbs, wraps and poses while hanging from a long, flowing piece of fabric, it is the amalgamation of strength, flexibility and artistry. Our guests will be amazed with the beauty of this popular artform.

Live painting by artist Melysa Gorlicky

Feast your eyes on this performance art installation, as Toronto-based artist Melysa Gorlicky creates a painting in real time. The work will be improvisational, accompanied by music – in sharp contrast with more studied fine art compositions which are generally executed in a private space. Prepare to be amazed! Be the first to bid on this one-of-a-kind piece as CNIB Foundation Ambassador Ben Mulroney of "eTalk" leads the live auction. Sponsored by Up Fundraising.

The music of Mylon Clarke

Get ready to groove to the island sounds of some of Barbados’ most respected musicians. Featuring Mylon Clarke on saxophone and Carly Manley on guitar with vocals backed by a three-piece band, you'll love this diverse blend of soul, blues, funk, pop, rock and Caribbean music.

About Our Cause

When we asked more than 4,000 Canadians impacted by blindness what they want from life and how we can help achieve it, they told us, quite simply: “We want it all.”

Through our 2018-2022 strategic plan, “Bold Dreams, Bright Futures”, we’re taking bold action to create the bright future they want, expect and deserve. Our strategic ambitions aim to boost participation in the world of work, unleash the power of technology and to drive achievement and equality.

Since the CNIB Foundation’s programs rely almost solely on donations, without people like you these amazing, impactful programs couldn’t exist.
